Another fan here, looking forward to the new album.

Good shouts on the unreleased stuff too.

  • The easiest way to get the unreleased stuff.....
If you are on Facebook join the 'Ryan Adams fan club',
Ryan Adams Archive'(the best two) and Ryan Adams  Supefans'. From here  someone will guide you to finding the unreleased stuff! As a note I do not advocate illegal downloads.  A lot of the stuff out there  was originally  put out by Ryan  and he used to let people  record his live stuff either straight through the sound desk or by other means. His thoughts were, it's better to be good quality and fans getting it for free than being ripped off for bad quality  stuff..... this all myths and hearsay stuff .so please don't shoot me down. Thanks in advance.
Happy hunting( for the music, not me !) LOL.
    Cheers  Mark.

I hadn't seen that vid  either. Superb.  I think his best stuff was with the cardinals' some great extended jams!

Not really a fan, but I like his 10 song, 7", 1984 EP, which is like a salute to Hüsker Dü.

Each of the tracks issued as a single coloured 7" with it's own b-side (and sleeve!). Action figures, video games etc. Slightly beyond my current budget but very cool imo.

  • I've never listened to Ryan Adams. I am a big Wilco fan - reckon I should check him out. Where to start?

Heartbreaker, Gold, Demolition, Love is Hell, Ashes & Fire and Ryan Adams are all worth a listen.

Rock n Roll is a bit of different approach. I'm not so keen on the stuff with the Cardinals.

If you like early Wilco then might also be worth checking out the first two Whiskeytown albums, Faithless Street and Strangers Almanac.

Gold' is an easy listen maybe followed by 'easy tiger' ,  'Ashes and fire' is nice and mellow. If you like pedal steel and the country vibe ,check out 'cold roses' and two of my favourites  is 'cardinology ' and the E.P  'FOLLOW THE LIGHTS' .. but this is all subjective . There is some great play lists on Spotify..
Enjoy the journey it's a bumpy ride, but well worth it ......

  • I just do the free Spotify, there is adverts every 4 or so songs. Obviously you need to be connected to Internet. But is great for finding new artists  and has saved loads of money with the family using it... still buy cds and bits of vinyl we fancy...  looking forward to the new album  and hopefully he tours it ,not too far from Leeds ...
    Cheers

I almost saw him twice at festivals around 2004 but he broke an arm or something so cancelled. I'd love to see him now but I can't see him playing in the UAE.
