Boss ES-5: Tell me about it

I'm thinking of using the downtime to build a second board untilising Midi with my SDD3000 & my Line 6 M5.

my plan is for it all to fit on a Pedaltrain Classic 1.

The ES5 looks perfect for me. All the drive tones will come from pedals going into a clean amp. Can I set dry/wet outputs if I use two amps?

Any my downsides to the ES5? On paper it looks really good.

It only has 5 loops? Other than that it seems to be able to do everything or more routing wise that my GT-100 does. I've been looking at this and the ES8 and they do look like amazing bit's of kit. I'm leaning towards the ES8 for the  extra loops, although can't justify it right now though. :/

It might let you do a wet/dry setup as it appears to have a separate left and right mixer which is on page 7 of the manual, can't say for sure though.

  • I've got a GLab gsc3 that I'm selling.
Does Midi, relay switches, 6loops and also 6 x 500ma isolated power outputs to power your pedals.
    £200 posted.
