Got my first 15k distance as well as 21.1kms today as well. Didn't think I'd get either so really pleased. Not fast nor pretty but great fun...
99% of all runners (including myself) are neither fast nor pretty. Get fit, have fun, raise some cash for good causes - well done you!

    Many thanks

I started last year really after about a year on-off walking. I was about 17 stone in mid 2015 and now almost my target of 12.5. I ran the BHF 'MyMarathon' fundraiser thing last year which spurred me on to continue. Love it.

Reminds me a lot of gigging, good one and bad ones and you need to be dedicated. When it goes well, it's very rewarding. I'll never run competitively but just enjoy this challenge of trying to get a bit better at it and still have fun doing so.

Thanks again for the kind words, cheers
    Hugh

Set the target of 150km this month. 13 km short so far so I'll grab that at the weekend. Slightly concerned at the noises coming from the left knee. It generally means there's some bits and pieces that need removing but I'm not in the frame of mind to go under the knife again. Strapping, ice, and careful management is the way forward.

5k Parkrun today.  38:35.  4 mins faster than last time!  I was with the wife and kids (10 and 8), it was enjoyable but I did feel a bit like a Eurofighter in formation with a Lancaster Bomber and 2 by planes, I was flying dangerously close to my stall speed....

I'm aiming for 1000 this year, so am ahead too. (I'm averaging 100k a month, so might hit 1200 but expect to tail off in autumn as the scottish weather gets even worse)

Thames Path 100 complete. 101.9 miles/ 175.6km. That was tough but job done. Aiming for sub 24 but quads blew up at 72 miles ish and took ages to recover. Ended up with 26:30, 1hr30 inside cut off.  Will take a few days off from running now to recover. Knackered is an understatement lol

Good to see everyone posting up runs this weekend.

    Total to date 597 miles / 960km.

200 press ups tonight. It's my side line while I'm out but has turned into something good so I'm relatively happy.
