Alright. Having hooked up my DD-500 to my M5 (DD-500 MIDI out -> M5 MIDI in) I've managed to get the M5 to follow the DD-500's beat clock and patches are changing in sync. Cool beans.
Thing is, the MIDI patch numbers are assigned on the DD-500 as if it were in A/B/C footswitch mode- patch 1A is PC#001, 1B is #002, then 1C (which is not accessible in any of the other footswitch modes) is #003 and so on. This means I can only access 16 of the 24 presets on the M5 from the DD-500.
I found the MIDI PC map menu on the DD-500 which controls the bank/MIDI PC relationships and changed them so that they only relate to banks xA and xB, but the M5 is still responding the same way.
Have I missed something? Or am I just expecting these two pedals to do things that I really need a more complex MIDI controller to achieve?
