S1 HSS deluxe strat wiring help needed

Pllleeeasse someone help me!

This is really beginning to piss me off now

All I want to do is replace the humbucker from the dead standard fender one with an fresh one, which in this case is a Dimarzio Norton.

i can't get the bastard to sound anything other than thin and weedy but I know I've got the wiring wrong - it'll be the colours and where they go in the bonkers 5 way. 

The first pic is the old pup and wiring and the second is the wire colours for The dimarzio. The third is a schematic I found online for the deluxe HSS wiring but its not helped me, 

currently I have green and bare to ground red and white together to 5 way at the 5 position and black to the 5 way in the 1 or 2 position (second tab in north side)

Try swapping the red and black wires over.

Going through similar shenanigans with my strat which had super duper wiring. I rewired everything to a new mint green scratchplate  and it's not been right since !!! 

Sort of given up for now lol. Hope yours is sorted.

Re attached the red wire and it "seems" to work

but we are now at "ssshhhhh the kids are asleep" volumes
