  • It was also back in the days before proper radio so maybe look there before blaming downloads for there being no more old music for you?
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

/\ I was actually alluding to all of the classic classics all in the chart at the same time this time 50 years ago - Absolutely nothing to do with making a statement about bloody technology - Jeez....

That dog looks like Jeremy Corbyn.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein

  • But before all the nostalgia people get carried away, look at the utter shite that's there too- The Seekers, Cliff, Tom Jones, Jim Reeves, Frank Ifield, Val Doonican. There's also two or three names at the bottom of the list that I've never heard of, and you probably haven't either.

I don't care what week of what year you pick, there was great stuff and shite being made. 1967 just looks better because we've had fifty years to forget the turds and cherish the good.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

Not everything that's trained to do as it's told is a Jeremy Corbyn.

Although, clearly, Jeremy Corbyn is trained to do as he's told.

I think that was just as a measure of time.

Much in the same way that some people use "BC" and "AD" ... Not every event that happens with an AD (or BC) date is explicitly linked to the alleged birth of a person of cultural and religious significance in a barn, many years ago.

    ;)

    OK, they probably won't.
They'll just be going through a very, very long list of hits by Clean Bandit and trying to remember who was the featured vocalist on each one.

Proper versatile.  Sometimes they sound like Rihanna and sometimes like Ed Sheeran...

    Amazing really.

There is nothing on that list that I would listen to on purpose.

  • Ive actually listened to 3 of those tracks (kinks, who and cream) this week, while my ipod has been on shuffle.

Im 36, and I have had no clue what is in the charts for the last 15 odd years. Im pretty confident 20 years from now i wont be harking back to the days Clean bandit (whoever the fuck they are) were on.

    That's an unsurprisingly strange opinion.

There are some great pieces of music on that list, despite them having been pop.

The one name that means nothing to me is Rita Pavone. I played the song on YouTube and it still didn't register. Mind you I was sitting my mock O levels in January 1967 so it may have slipped under my radar. A lucky escape ;)
One day I'm going to make a guitar out of butter to experience just how well it actually plays.

I've nothing against pop. I quite like Good Vibrations, but that list is all old stuff that I've heard a bazillion times already. There's so much fantastic new music out there; I don't understand this love some people have of wallowing in 50-year-old music.
