Burr top finishing?

I like the idea of a burr top, but are there associated problems? Is it best to fill the imperfections with something? I'd quite like to have one and spray it with a translucent finish.

Depends on the burr.  both species and specific example.

If its loose and cracking then soak it in CA.  If it has voids fill with clear epoxy or something colourful and full of glitter
