Anyone using a Peacekeeper with a PRRI?how does it sound at lowish volumes? and is there a decent amount of gain on tap? Thanks

  • Yes,  the peacekeeper works well with fender amps. With the presence control off, the volume dimmed & the gain about 1:30pm it sounds about as close to 'natural' as it can do hooked into a  tube amp with no master volume, set low (ie the 12ax7s are driving tone instead of the 6v6's).

Where its a clean boost, its ideally best placed 1st in the signal chain before another fx pedal  & clean amp. Or, on its own with an amp that is near natural OD.

For example (and this is absolutely killer) - Guitar - Peacekeeper - Catalinbread Formula 5 - Fender amp set clean  - Tone =  unbelievable!

Adrian (where are you Thorpy) would recommend a similar scenario with the Peacekeeper going into the gunshot.

If you want more clean boost/gain an Xotic RC booster (new one) has more than a Peacekeeper on its own but I couldn't see any real use for it over & above what the Peacekeeper does.

If you want  a 'flavour pedal' (aka the sound of a gained amp at low vol) then the Gunshot, Catalinbread etc etc maybe more of what you are looking for. The gunshot is the pedal with the most 'instant gratification'.

Hope this helps & to reiterate, yeah, it'll all work great with your PRRI.
