What at do we think? Seems good but I didn't like the drive tone so much.

I like it but where do you attach the drills and extraction tube?

I've not heard a PRS amp in person that sounds better than 'meh'.

I'll go further - I hated the drive tone.

I suspect Paul has a sense of humour. He probably finds Mayer as annoying as I do and thought it'd be a laugh to tuck him up with a poor drive sound....

  • I like it, I like JM too.

waaaay out of my price range though.

I'd like to see a 1x12 combo version with a tank though, for simplicity and portability.

    $6000 though?
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

    Lots and lots of pennies.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

I thought it sounded great but as above that's bloody expensive.

Silly price. Nothing special. Better come with a hangtag.

  • Always liked JM's playing but feck me that was underwhelming.  And at that price it should remove socks!

I liked the drive tone, it sounded like a real amp being driven, with all the mush and chaos which actually happens when you run an old amp flat out.

I bet it sounds fantastic with an old treble booster in front of it, like the 80s never happened.
    :)

  • I kind of liked it. Not a drive tone I'd use but I didn't think it was horrible.  Very Vintage. I'm sure there are more sounds in it, but either way it's miles out of my price range.

I'm a massive Mayer fan, honestly I love his stuff.  However, in the video he sounds like a total bellend.  It's like he is reading from a cuecard of utter sonic bullshit.  Has anyone here ever played an amp and complained it wasn't bouncing off you enough?

    I wouldn't buy it for 600, let alone 6000

It's a shame when someone so talented starts becoming known for $6k brown amps and $10k prs guitars.  Love on the Weekend will sound just as dull through the PRS guitar and amp.

(Honestly though, I am a massive fan and I'm hoping he tours. I'm not bipolar)

He must have sense of humour. It's the only possible explanation for those bird fret markers. Like something designed by Katie Price.

Spot on. I love (most of) Mayers music too and he's an incredible player.

His current PRS trip is very underwhelming though, lots of bling and craply recorded snippets that sound very average.
