FT MJW Tweed 2x10 combo price drop fs

Hi all,

I am putting my MJW up for trade as I am needing an amp with a little more headroom for some large outdoor gigs I have lined up for this year. I have used this amp extensively in the studio and I would be happy to send clips.

Honest truth is is that I think Martin builds the best amps that I've used and if Martin was not taking a sabbatical I would be ordering a larger version of this amp. 

Trade wise i am looking for a Fender Supersonic or JTM45 but I'd be interested to know what you have got. 

This amp was completed and picked up in January 2016. The spec is as follows

5E3 circuit
1x12AY7, 1x12AX7, 2xEL84
15 Watts nominal
Gain, Tone and volume controls
Single input
Fat' switch
1x8 ohm, 1x16 ohm speaker outputs
Dimensions approx 600 x 300 x 450mm (wxdxh)
Amp rear mounted with upward facing controls
2 x 8 ohm 10" speakers type Celestion G10 Vintage

Value wise I would say the amp is worth £625

Having EL84s, how much different does this sound to a 6v6 5e3?

It's a good question and as I've not much experience with this perhaps @martinw  could advise. 

What i I can say is that it does sound quite different to any of the other el84 style amps that I have used. As is the norm with these valves it does compress but with the 5e3 that's a positive.

no loop on this one, it's an all in the front amp.

It sounds as good as it looks too

It sounds great on that track, nice playing 'n all.

I do seem to hear an EL84 sound in there, a bit less soft than 6v6 but I could be imagining it.  It's a great sound either way.

Thanks for the offer lads but I don't think either of those would suit the band I'm in too much. I must admit, I've always liked a Fender DDRI though.

@horsehead if I thought the DDRI would be able to do a thick classic rock thing then I'd do it but I don't think the fender would be an ideal choice for that?
