Not sure if your after 8 or 16ohm.

I know most things are better new... but for me I'd rather buy a broken in used speaker with some miles on the clock, they just sound so much better (as long as it's not been abused, so check the cone movement for any scrapes or buzzing at volume, you can return if it has a fault in most cases).

No but I do like the blue but I don't want it to compress too early. So I thought the Gold would be a good choice?

I haven't tried one yet, but from what I've heard the new Cream Alnico might be closer to a 'louder Blue'.

The Gold sounds more like an 'Alnico V30' to me.
