    Absolutely @miserneil ;

Bought it new in the US and got it over here. I was the first owner. Got it from Route 66/ Jim and Janine.

    Cheers

Not so good times Neil. Ended up having to EBay it of all things :( It was a super guitar. Kinda weird playing a modern custom that was so light!

They made 6 in total I believe, it's very rare that one. I'd have it back if I could but not in buying mood just now....i.e skintola :(

    Cheers

I'd prefer a 56 custom but I might overlook the other pickup thing if it was that good

Ach, cest la vie etc @miserneil :)

It all worked out ok in the end. Can't say I'm deprived of nice guitars these days AND didn't end up using the hitman after all.......

In IMHO this was the Les Paul deal of the day. (below) You all missed it because you were snoozing. It was up for maybe a couple of hours.

Actually, I have told a few people here to watch Daves carefully so maybe someone here got it.....even with the Pound so weak.....
The refin does not look "great". Maybe just needs the top only doing again.....

I have not been hugely complimentary about 68 GTs on this forum  (I sold mine after 6 months) but they are a step up from a Les Paul Deluxe and this guitar was worth the money.

That middle pickup looks like a knucklebreaker on my ham fist.

    Otherwise: *DROOL*

The reminds me that one of the many, many things I detest about Gibsons is the inlay at the 1st fret.
One day I'm going to make a guitar out of butter to experience just how well it actually plays.

One man's PRS is another man's cricket bat et al. Etc.

This one worked for me at least. A blast from a not so good past. Might setup a crowdfunding page and take my chances.....:)

    Cheers

Most Gibsons don't have inlays at the first fret.

    Looks good to me!

Its only the Custom models that do.  Don't know why anyone would detest having an inlay on the 1st fret though...seems an odd thing to detest.

That's just perverse, it's like saying one of the things you detest about Fenders is the blue paint.

Needs an Alnico pickup in the neck position :).

Otherwise, possibly close to my ideal Gibson electric.
