I know it's supposed to go on a guitar stand, but it you rest that on the floor it will always seem as if it's falling over. I like Variaxes but I'm more of a traditionalist and I'd still go with a  JTV59 or 69.

Like the design.  I guess going after the less traditional guitarist makes sense.... but not sure the metal market will need (or should be allowed to have) 12 string and banjo emulation

I dunno... Slayer could be the target market. Kerry King has often spoken about doing a side project involving his banjo passion...

Okay from the spiel it is aimed at metal players so I won't feel bad saying it's not for me. Maybe for the 16 year old me clutching my Venom singles.
If you follow the links from that page they've got something on the GAK site about the Orange Rocker 32 which, if I were looking for an amp, might interest me a lot - bit more me than the Variax Shuriken.

I like the shape, but it could be somewhat less black.

Ah beat me to it. Yes it's definitely for fans of the metulz. Not gonna be for everyone but it's very cool if you're into that sort of stuff. Twelve Foot Ninja are pretty great too. The videos are hilarious. Check em oot. Best get some heavy riffs learnt for some demos.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

Is the next big thing fewer strings? I only see five tuners. ;)

Well spotted. It's just a computer rendering and something glitchy going on. There are 6 strings and 6 tuners.

I'll be honest I thought the same when I first saw it. It's grown on me a lot. I guess it goes like this, the design is very specific. I'm pretty sure the customer who is going to like this will think Strats, LPs etc are awful.

There's never any flippin' innovation in the guitar industry.

Doubt it but I don't a spec sheet yet. Only found out about it a couple of weeks ago.

Variax guitars don't give up do they, even in the face of utter indifference and moral contempt. Almost like that one scrappy redhead on every guitar forum.
