As a teenager I loved CAN .. Jaki Liebezeit's groove was unique. RIP.

  Can were a great band and Jaki was a superb drummer. I saw them at Fairfield Halls in Croydon at their height, I think Future Days had not long come out and they were getting a bit more mainstream recognition. Tago Mago is still one of my favourite albums of all time.

I love Tago Mago as well .. I got into them in the early 70s when German exchange students brought over albums to my school .. we'd sit and listen to them in the schools main music room at full volume .. happy days.

Aye, still listen to all their stuff regularly. The drumming was probably the biggest reason i liked Can.

what a shame..
Tago mago is untouchable, and Jaki's drumming on the song 'Mother sky' is a highlight for me (as well as some awesome lead guitar work)

Sad, I know a guy who plays occasionally with Damo Suzuki. Can were a great band, a later gem is the Landed album

I only just heard about this the other day. An amazing drummer in an amazing band, RIP!

Both Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone and Freakier Zone on Radio 6 at the weekend paid tribute to him, worth a listen...
