Same layout as the reverb, both kicking out the heels of strymon ? 

Doesn't seem to have deidicated midi though? needs the control port.

Empress do midi through a 1/4 inch jack. No ideal though they sell some leads and boxes to integrate in a bigger midi system

As in; it doesn't have the standard 5pin midi connection. you needthe extra bits to use the controlpoint

So you can have any two delay engines running in parallel? The Timeline doesn't do that.

could also do a parallel delay + verby type thing...
I wonder how good the dry signal is maintained.

The analogue through aspect of the Timeline works well high higher gain stuff, wheras others get some colouration

These days, proprietary MIDI is mad and a little self indulgent. Otherwise looks great, but the Ocean Machine seems a more sensible option for otherworldly sounds in a single box, even if it's a slightly different concept
