Ta for that - I tried to go to it last week to check the spec of my Little Rock and it wasn't there.
    Red ones are better.

That's more like it. The old Matamp site wasn't exactly the most helpful one out there.

Indeed.  Prices are quite hefty these days though.  I guess it's still a lot of amp for your money...

Worth every penny (it also helps I got mine at a bargain price second hand).

Think I'll be sending it to the factory at some stage for a retolexing and a new faceplate.

Not cheap, but not that expensive either, compared to most USA hand wired amps. Or even some non-handwired ones.

  • Funny, I never really got on with my 1224... although they do say they are incredibly merciless on poor playing so that probably explains a lot.

That's interesting, it looks like a cracking amp.  Any particular reason?

As I said, showed up my poor playing too much!

Just kidding (although my playing is poor) - probably felt like too much amp for me. I use pedals for drive so just need a standard clean tone, but it always felt like there were too many options. What with all the buttons and knobs - mid boost, power scaling, reverb, drive and overdrive etc.

It just never felt like, 'wow' when I played it. It just felt a bit sterile to me. Maybe I never spent enough time with it to find what worked. Our FOH engineer has a mkI and absolutely swears by it.

Now they just need some good demos/videos of their amps online!

Most stuff online is people doing muddy, indistinguishable doom stuff. Hardly really shows these amps' potential.
