I quite fancied one just for the sitar setting.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

  • I remember seeing them in total guitar magazine when they came out. Didn't they have a function where it was a clean/sitar sound and you hold down the pedal and it slowly brings in the distortion?
    Hours of fun!
    How very rock and roll

Now you just need, the frankly phenomenal, David Draiman to sing with you and you'll be golden!

I remember trying this pedal out in Machinehead back in the mid 2000s.

All I remember is that me and my mate were giggling at one setting which made it sound like we were writing a porno soundtrack.

The sitar setting is great fun! A friend has one laying around in his drum room that his brother left there, it gets plugged in most time I go over to jam... along with a dwarfcraft eau claire thunder, that I'm trying to steal... sitar into massive fuzz is hellish

Yeah, it's a clean phaser sound which crossfades into non-phaser heavy distortion. I plan to use this on every song from now on, regardless of context.  =)

Well that's stupid, you need to leave songs for the whammy pedal too!

    Me too!

Does anyone remember the truly godawful crossroads ec pedal from the same range?

Apparently this one is actually really brilliant with some truly unusual effects.

You can use both in the same song.....

Any how, I've got several Digitech pedals, and they're all fannytastic......

  • Initial impressions are that it's really shit. Damn.

The distortions sound really artificial, which means the phaser crossfade thing isn't really useable....major bummer. The sitar is OK and the octave effect is pretty good but I already have a Morpheus droptune. To be fair you can dial in a pretty decent bone-crushing metal tone on settings 1 and 7 but the more interesting modes don't have enough control to get anything other than a bucket of ice-pick fizz.

  • That's a shame. What amp are you running it into?

I've always heard good things about this one :(

  • I'll check the manual (I didn't get one with it) in case I'm missing something. It does sound so bad that I do wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I've tried it into my Orange TH30 and my H&K Switchblade 100 head. Sounds similar through both.

  • So I've been listening to the Disturbed songs that the various settings on the pedal are meant to replicate and to be honest...the pedal may well be reproducing those tones fairly accurately. I'd kind of forgotten how extreme the tones are. I may have judged the pedal too harshly...I'll have another play tonight.
