Lithium 9v pp3 batteries in FX pedals

I prefer to use batteries in pedals when recording to avoid mains hum.

problem is that standard pp3s last 10 minutes in delay or reverb pedals.

Anyone tried the newer lithium rechargeable ones - do they last long enough to justify the extra cost? Or any other non-wall-wart options?

Lion rechargeables have a lower Voltage rating and as thus lower EMF than say a top brand like Duracell. Typically they last only mins in a 600+ma rated unit.

I have mentioned this before. You can get a six AA pack from Maplin that has a PP3 style clip on it. Then get a pp3 clip to co ax power adaptor (someone here can find the picky I am sure?)

AAs are available everywhere and even the cheapest Rock Bottom jobbies will outlast an alkaline PP3 several time (maybe even a Lithium?)

Of course you could use Lithium AAs or re chargeable ones.
