FrankenSG - Pickguard/Stetsbar clash

Hello clever people of thefretboard, can anyone suggest how I might wriggle out of this little quandry?  In idiots terms preferably, given that I am not very handy.

As you can see, the Stetsbar base wants to go where the pickguard is.

I did see this coming, to be fair.

Sell the guitar and get one with a floyd rose already fitted.

edit.   Only half the message posted for some reason.  
I'd file away the pick guard to make it fit but probdbly buy a second guard to do it in case you need to reverse it in the future.

@John_P okay apologies for the sarcasm in that case! Yeh filing out a notch sounds like the one. It's an aftermarket guard for 50s tribute, cost a fair it with shipping from US. I'll take the guard off for a bit and see how I get on with the bar. Cheers

I wonder if the pickup and routing would allow a reshape rather than a notch and be less obvious when done.

Simplest fix, put masking tape down to show where you need to remove it.  File it away.

reshaping the whole curve is a good idea if the finish under the guard is consistent with the rest.  Just don't go too far as it will stand out

Any combination of coping saw, files, sanding blocks and scrapers.

i would mark the new shape with tape. cut most of the excess off with a coping or band saw. file the edge to final shape, I sanding block will work too.  File the bevel by hand.  Then tidy up with fine grit paper or scrapers

No one has suggested the obvious option... Cut the Stetsbar.

Couldn't get the action low enough with the Stetsbar on, bit of a shame.  It's going in the classifieds if anyone is interested ;-)  Maybe try a Les Trem instead.  Thanks all for your suggestions
