Quilt Maple source

Hello,I'm building an 8 string lap steel and I'm looking for a nice piece of quilted maple for the fingerboard 
(480mm X 80mm X 5mm) min size
called all the usual luthiers suppliers
D dyke,timberline,touchstones,anyone have a piece they'd considered selling ???
they have it,but it's all cut up for tops or back n sides.
anyone know of anywhere 
The USA sells it very reasonably but the shipping is crazy, and then there's the import nonsense to contend with when it gets here.

If they sell sides they should have something you can use, just call up David dyke to discuss your requirements.

quilted maple isn't usually used for necks and fretboards because it's deep figure makes it quite weak along the grain.  That won't be an issue on a lapsteel.   The size of the figure might be though... how well will those large ripples sit between the fret lines?
