    There's a few for me:

Telegraph Road, Tunnel of Love and Sultans are close to perfection for me. The Sultans version on Alchemy is unbeatable

    Comfortably Numb from Pulse

    Freebird for sure

Gary Moore's outro on Over the Hills

    Norum on Rock the Night

Anything by Mark Reale on Riot's Thundersteel album. Each one has a bombastic, awesome ending

Three Boats Down from the Candy - simple but beautifully melodic. Also Rothery's playing behind the vocals at the end of Forgotten Sons is epic

    Paradise City is cool

Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne.

Agreed with @not_the_dj about Ace of Spades, the ending is just perfect.

But my favourite is the very end of Ooh Song by King's X, it's fading almost to inaudibility and Ty Tabor changes the riff.  It kills me every time.

The Chain - F.Mac  even been pinched for some dodgy TV car program.
There's a special edition CD of Rumors with a load of outtakes on a 3rd disc (live stuff on disc 2), anyway that outro crops up on a few different songs in various forms, they were obviously so desperate to use it somewhere.

Yeah, I bought that a few weeks ago. It was very interesting to hear how it evolved, and that it was a guitar riff originally.

An extremely cool riff, but SO much more effective on bass guitar - I was really impressed with the artistic decision making that the outtakes seem to show.

Anyway, if we're not allowed Layla, how about Stairway? hehe

... actually Freebird is my favourite, hands down. It's old, it's crusty, but when I actually give it a spin, it hasn't dated anymore than I have.

Not strictly a Guitar Outro but Jack Whites Lazaretto has a pretty good Outro. The song has a couple of verses and instrumental choruses then the song basically stops, starts a bridge section with a different riff,  then there is a dual fiddle solo, and finally they play the chorus section again really slowly finishing with some long sustained notes.

Now you've got me thinking of old songs with long guitar outros...

Boogie No More - Molly Hatchet

Green Grass and High Tides - The Outlaws

    Lost Horizon - MSG

Back on the Road Again - REO Speedwagon

    Winds of Change - Y&T

I'm not saying they're "the greatest"....

  • The arpeggios at the end of Scarrified by Racer X were a real holy shit moment first time I heard them.  2:22 onwards

The outro to Bon Jovi`s `Runaway` kind of made me want a guitar when I was 13 - it fades and I had a plan as to how it should go on - took a long time to be able to play what I heard in my head! :-) It turns out it`s not as easy as it looks!

I don`t think it was Sambora on the record either - could be wrong!
