What didn't work well was the fuzz side of things. I think you need quite a bit of headroom to get away with the fuzz side of things. Unfortunately a tweed doesn't have the headroom that will enable you to cut through the band mix. Actually you might just disappear into the mix (I did when I used it).
The best fuzz i found for this type of set up is the Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face Mini. It does not get too bass heavy and it cuts through the mix.

I would be more tempted to buy a Beano Boost and the BoG fuzz face as separates.
That pedal sounds nice but I would have thought there are options at a fraction of that price that will get you that tone.
Of all the fuzz face pedals I've tried I think the more expensive ones are the more picky ones.
