Partial to Jazz III nylons and anything grippy over 1mm generally

Max Grip are great.

I pretty much use whatever size of Max Grip, T3, or regular Tortex I fancy. Varies according to what I'm playing, generally .60 - .88, though sometimes heavier.

I wish all picks had grippy surfaces

Dunlop Nylon 0.88mm - used them for over 30 years.

I'm twiddling a max-grip 1.5 between my fingers as I type....guitar to one side lol

I used the red Jazz iii picks for years but since then I change about all the time.

Now I switch between the Tortex TIII 1.0mm and 1.4mm, Ultex sharps, Jazz III, Java ultra grip and others.

i'm using the petrucci jazz 3's, they're incredible.

I switch between various Winspears, 2mm stubby and my current go to pick, Gravity 1.5mm Razer standards. The Gravity are grippy by being smooth rather than having a contour.

Those Dunlop nylons 0.88mm @richardhomer mentioned?  Always hated them cos they are thin and squashy and you don't get any attack with them.  It's like playing with a grey blancmange, albeit a blancmange with a fairly nice grip to be fair.  And grey isn't even a proper colour. 
Anyway, picked one up a couple of months ago.  Turns out they're suddenly pretty good.  Go figure.

 Petrucci Jazz III.... been a revelation since switching from yellow tortex a few months ago, I find these perfect; good grip but not too much.

Either a Clayton 0.6 or Dunlop Tortex 0.88. 
I hold the pic wrong (I use three fingers) so don't need grippy pics

The picks that come inside the boxes of Jason Lollar's pickups, they're made of the same stuff used by fender in their 50s/60s pickups...  vulcanized fiberboard.

I use Dunlop Nylon. Varying thicknesses depending on my arthritis.

Fred Kelly Bumblebee thumbpicks. They are absolutely great -- most thumbpicks are far too thick and heavy, but these are basically like medium plectrums that are stuck to your thumb.

I started off on Gibson heavy for years then went through various Dunlop Tortex, then various Timbertones and for the past couple of years I've been using Fender heavy.

Tortex sharps 1.0mm

I used to use the normal Tortex in .88/1.0/1.14 depending on what I wanted to use at the time. I tried the 1.0mm sharps, and found them leaving the strings much quicker than the standards, making quicker runs easier, and I'm finding the 1.0 thickness just spot on for me.


Since switching I've found my picking is much more precise, and gentler.
