NPD: The BEST Strymon Timeline EVER ????

So, that tempter of all things pedal-like @garfy (Marc) has lent me two pedals; a Pete Cornish LD-3 and a Strymon Timeline (with a difference)...

Now, he knows I'm daft and a soft touch

The LD-3 is simply amazing. Just a buffer, over-priced, yadda yadda yadda I hear the doubters say - but it REALLY adds something to your tone....

But back to the plot, this Timeline has been edited and programmed by Italo de Angelis. Now, you know when you watch something like the Pedal Show and think 'my TL never sounds that good'... well, this kind of tweaking maybe the reason why.

Not cheap, but my word, I have never heard Timeline sound or feel like this. Incredible.
I've simply got to own this...

It's that good, that my beloved Nemesis and Belle Epoch are going up for sale. 
The Dunlop Echoplex is under threat too !!

Yes the guy was a programmer for Roland I believe and his website is pretty good reading. Highly recommended!

Can you download them onto Nixie and then pick and choose between his presets and factory/your own?

Italio will email you your chosen folder of presets which I saved in Strymon Librarian. From there you can totally arrange your existing and new presets as you wish.

What sort of conjuring has he done to make the TL sound so good then? He's a top guy and I respect his knowledge a lot.

I think he's saying that the Timeline has a maximum input before clipping of +8dBu, where nominal professional line level is +4dBu, so you only have 4dB of headroom. Which isn't vast.

I would think that only matters in the FX loop of an amp or if you're using it in a studio rather than in a guitar setup.

From the website, it's clear this guy knows his stuff. Plenty of different options mainly for rackmount gear i.e. 2290, PCM etc. He obviously understands the complex (to my mind anyway ) workings of tweaking all the different parameters to obtain great presets. Now I can't imagine how long this would take but I know I would rather pay an expert than spend hours & hours tying myself up in knots and basically fucking it up

I think I would question what I think sounds good that what actually sounds good to others. Or is that the insecure part of me saying that lol

Horses for courses and all that. However those presets do sound good to me

Totally agree hotpickups, sounds are so subjective, thank god or we would all own a peavey bandit & an encore stratolike

@garfy how would you describe the difference between stock and Italo de Angelis' presets? Tape and Digital engines, for example...any more/less like an El Cap or 2290 or is that completely off the mark? Sounds great, in theory and I know you were immensely impressed when you first got it done. :-)
