    That's excellent,

I've a bit a problem using ascending phrases and that's a nice one to work on.

    Thanks

its a handy way to do arps that way as well ....just repeat the same pattern with the right hand on the first group of 3 strings then the last group of 3 ...and alter the left hand fingering to accomodate that... :)

    Nice! Nice reverby sound too.
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

Haha....you won't fail it you will nail it...just practice it 4 notes at a time doing it really slow to start with... :)

@Barney - I was noodling with that lick...
something that sounds quite cool is if you imagine it at the end of the song..
play it with ritartando and for the last note, rather than hammer 3 to 7 on the 1st string
slide from 3 up and then fret the D on the 10th..
sounds a little sweeter if the slide don't make it all the way too..
so you head from the 3rd upwards and break off somewhere in the 6th to 8th fret area and then hit the D
    sounds really quite pretty..
play every note as if it were your first

@clarky yeah I agree just tried that now ..it would make a nice tight ending .. :) I think another thing worth messing with is missing strings ...so start the run on. The E string as normal but the miss the A string and jump to The D string....then back to A string then to G ...iff you get the just of that...lol.. Just same pattern but skipping strings....
While on that subject....something that I sometmes do before changing strings or on a old guitar is take maybe the. B and D string off....or it could be any or just one...doing different strings at different times.....then I just noodle away for a couple of days ...it makes you play in a different way ..makes everything more intervalic...cos you dont/cant use the regular runs......when you put the strings back on this still sticks because it has become part of your playing...something really worth triying regardless of level of players...it makes you think in a different way.. :)

aye its a bit more awkward but worth it cos it can be moved around a lot using the same r/hand picking pattern.. :)
