This came about after having a discussion with a friend who isn't as into pedals as I am.
Obviously there's no limit to the great combinations of guitar and amp, but I'm also inclined to say there are certain pedals and pickups that can be brilliant pairs.
The Boss DD-3 is a great pedal, yet to me the character of the repeats seems to suit a Tele, especially the bridge pickup. It can be quite trebly, but when done correctly, it creates a great soundscape. Similarly, my Epiphone Riviera with P90s seems to suit a Big Muff more than my Tele - maybe because the mids help to fill out the fuzz a bit more.
What other combination (not necessarily of guitar) of pickup and pedal is a match made in heaven?

Absolutely agree, my klon klone (Tumnus) sounds blissful with Powertrons as well.
It's a brilliant OD/distortion/fuzz with any guitar, but with a Strat it has that little something extra.
Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
I'd also add the Alembic Stratoblaster circuit with a Strat (funnily enough). It just has the eq spot on to make for a really ballsy almost-clean strat sound. I rarely switch mine off.
