If its Poly, then a hot air paint stripper gun and a scraper, then sanding, Nitro use thinners and plenty of rags soaked in thinners to wipe it off....then sanding....

The Bridge / Trem:

1.  I cannot decide between a traditional bridge:

The Gold and Chrome is a nice contrast and would tie in with the planned chrome with gold tuner button tuners

Unsure...

Brass Knobs.  I can't seem to find some nice, dulled brass / gold knobs at a decent price.  Any ideas?

Otherwise, everything else should be straightforward...  Stuck on the bridge more than anything though.

The gold/Chrome wilkinson is the way I'd go, that would look great against the dark finish. Can't help with the control knobs though. Could you get some brass ones on Ebay and dull them down with steel wool?

That wilkinson bridge is fantastic, my booboo strat build has one, rock solid. 
The tarnished brass knobs is easy, soak the new (if you get new) knobs  in thinners for a couple of days and this will take off most of the lacquer, and scrub them with a toothbrush in the thinners to get the fiddly bits off, oxygen and finger sweat /oil will tarnish them in no time.

@eSully ;; @Sarge ; Yes, the Wilkinson is a lead candidate... might dull down the gold finish slightly though.  

With the knobs, unless I'm being dim, no one seems to have gold / brass coloured ones, all chrome or black.

Very odd as a few years ago I could get them easily for a non guitar project.

I'd go with standard black strat knobs. Like the mixed gold/chrome bridge idea.

That's certainly an option.  

I've found the stain I want to use, Morrells Plum Mahogany Light Fast Spirit stain.  It's got a reddish brown hue, perfect for what I want.  

So so then I have to decide what to finish it in.  I've used hard wax oil before, but lots of people use Tru Oil... any suggestions...?

I appreciate the thought @Sarge - but by the time they got over here, adding the Royal Mail's 'handling fee' and VAT we'd be heading to £50.  I think not...

Clear decal paper costs pennies from Amazon, you could print your own.....out of interest what font is that on the Raven please?
