Anybody else find Harma valves a bit bleugh

every time I've tried an amp with them they always seem a bit flubby and I'll defined. The 6L6's in one of my prowlers just have to go, they seem to add a lot of bass and the mids lose focus.

Thoughts? Recommendations for new 6L6's, Winged C's still the ones?

=C= are no longer in production.

I've had good results with JJs are we couldn't hear much difference between those and =C=.

Harma valves are simply rebranded valves from the usual subjects.

Do you know what they rebrand? I'd rather not get anything like these ones again!!

Didn't like their 12AX7's at all - not that the tone was bad just that they died in my DC5 almost instantly - went back to JJ's and grove tubes and have had zero issues since.

I think the Harma Retro 6L6s are S-logo Svetlanas which are not really supposed to be sold in the EU.

They come out of the EH Saratov factory.

I bought a load several years ago now and they seemed fine, but have not really any experience of current production.

The Harma STRs look very much like JJs.

If you don't like them to begin with, try sticking them in the fridge for a bit.

I bought a set once, but wasn't wowed by them, I always assumed they were selected JJ's, but maybe not. I've tried the cryo version and didn't find them anything special either; now I just buy JJ's and they're fine.

Hmm, always thought it was me that was hearing the amp wrong - maybe it was the valves after all.  I put some Harma 6L6GC in my old Boogie Nomad and it sounded a bit like a fart in a bubblebath.  Put JJs back in and it sounded a lot, lot better.

The best 6L6 tube I used was T.A.D 6L6WGC, awesome sounding valve, very clear, focused and great definition.

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky

    Bit of trading feedback here.

+1 on the TAD's. Great valves at a sensible price

    I think TAD's are just re-labelled Chinese Shuguang's
