I always think this guy is an android vampire who has been programmed to play the guitar at expert levels without a pick, and is forever locked inside a dark closet for eternity because of the light. People live off food and water, he lives off performing demos of guitars and pedals.

The problem with Andy is he gets a great tone out of almost everything.

The amount of times this must happen...

"ooh cool new pedal, time to look for YouTube demos"

"ooh PGS Andy has done a demo, let's watch this one"

    -- listens --

"I definitely need this, despite it not being appropriate for my rig or playing style"

    -- orders online --

    -- tries pedal --

    "dammit Andy!"

I know what you mean, but is that really a problem? I think it's just the harsh realilty that many players need to be reminded of... it's all in the fingers and no gear has that much mojo that it's suddenly going to make an average player great. I quickly scanned that reddit link and noticed Andy reckons he can get a good tone from most pedals. If you have the same gear as him and can't get great tones... maybe get off the internet and practice!

It's like chasing the holy grail David Gilmour sound. Gilmour claims he could go into a guitar shop and pick up the cheapest strat copy, amp, fuzz and delay and still sound like Gilmour and the misguided borefest 'sound like' video on Andertons proves that even with the same gear you can nothing like Gilmour.

Can't say I've ever been inspired by Andy to buy a pedal. I don't even look there anymore. Yes, he sounds great, but he is so far removed from the way I play and he has enough time to make everything sound good, that it becomes a bit pointless.

Cool dude. There are some well-produced videos and great playing.

However, you should always remember that he's there to sell you stuff.
