What to use to polish a scratched plastic truss rod cover

The truss rod cover on one of my guitars has a number of scratches on it.  These scratches are only cosmetic imperfections but I would like to polish them out if this is possible.  All help and suggestions appreciated.  Thanks.

Corvus

Autosol, toothpaste, T-cut, any such fine abrasive will do in a pinch for very light marks. Anything else, fine wet & dry first.
