Went to see a vintage Gibson L-48 (at the wonderful Phil's Vintage in Thame), was a bit too loggy in the neck dept for me, but hanging on the wall was a re-issue Gretsch New Yorker - with a Dearmond Rhythm Chief 1100 - for a snip !

Nice... Would happily give rythem chief a home too.. Elmore James in a pickup ;) not sure about 1100 but 1000 had two diff magnets and windings to better balance wound and unwound strings and really do sound different to most other pickups

Pretty cool, I've always liked this style but can't seem to break my solid body habit.....yet

I just did as wanted an acoustic for home and wanted something different... Love the way my Zenith Deluxe Super Cutaway plays and sounds.

was gonna just be a practise machine but having so much fun its getting piezo and vintage pickup treatment so can be a versatile vintage machine for stage acoustic or a bit of vintage electric slide/r&r

Some knob detail - looks like bakelite jobs off an old radio.

(need to remove scratchplate polythene coating - it isn't rough at all)

My wife has often threatened to do the same if I bought more guitars.

    Still, worth it.
