Best rack based tuner?

Love my Sonic Research mini strobe tuner...is there anything as good/comparable in terms of rackmount tuners?

Many thanks

  • The tuner in the Axe FX is really good, might be worth trying that first?

If you need more visibility the Korg Pitchblack Pro looks good, though on paper it won't quite be as accurate as the Peterson. Whether you can hear that will be personal, I can't hear +- 1 cent as being out but the Peterson is +-0.1 cents so is still better on paper.

I considered the Korg but then realised I'm never far enough away from my Axe FX that I can't see the screen.

I don't know the spec on the Axe FX tuner but it seems pretty accurate to me

  • @guitarfishbay That's very helpful, thank you! The Korg looks cool as!

To be honest with you, it's a gas thing, having a cool looking rack tuner above the Axe will be good, save me going in and out of modes...but you're right, I should at least try the Axe tuner first! :-)

    Korg Pitchblack, because Cylon.

    Also, if it's a gas thing, GSP1101 has a decent tuner :)
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

Korg dtr2000 is excellent I think, though I think Gassage doesn't rate it highly

I've had the Pitchblack Pro in the past, nice display but build is flimsy as anything, it's made out of recycled margarine tubs I think.

I have the korg pitchblack pro rack mount and well happy with it. Very clear large display and always on so easy to tweak. Only use it at home so don't know how it would stand the test of travel/gigging.
