I thought rust was to be treated and removed. Even if it is "new", there's nothing worse for me than playing a dirty guitar with someone else's muck all over it, looking like something the cat brought in from the garden.

I would be torn between trying to clean it up & polishing the metalwork, and looking at it in utter disgust.

Not a guitar for me.

The only cure for that is pulling it apart and cleaning every last speck of dirt and corrosion before I would even consider playing it.

the weird thing is that on the back it doesn't even look burnt. the body looks as if it has been wiped over with an oily rag & the neck looks like a limb with a skin infection.

it all seems to be 101 ways to muck around with an otherwise average quality & hard to shift copy in the hope of avoiding giving it to the charity shop. let it go.

& steam punk not for me either. do you wanna make clocks or do you wanna rock? commit!
