"Modeller-Jam : a meetup for users, the inquisitive, and the downright sceptical" ?

What's Hot
TimmyOTimmyO Frets: 7413
Who would be interested in such a thing?

Happy users could compare approaches and amplification options.

Interested onlookers could hear (and more importantly feel) for themselves how they perform.

The sceptical could drink beer with folded arms and upturned noses.

And fun and social interaction could be had.

Leaving aside any "as long as it's near my house, and I reserve the right not to show up on the day" responses, in principle, who'd come?

Tim

I would probably come, I have a Zoom G5 which is pretty good and I'd like to see how much better the Helix and Fractal stuff is.

I run a pretty simple chain with the G5, it's basically an overdriven Fender Twin with a Boost and a Big Muff and occasionally an Envelope Filter.

Though I may need a straw...

To be honest, I doubt anyone could keep a straight face if I turned up with my Hohner JT60 (w/ ATN guitar modelling technology), Zoom 3030 and VOX VT20+. And my playing would not sell any of them.
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

Depending where and when I'd be happy to bring my 4x12, power amp and Eleven Rack.

Definite yes, subject to the usual availability disclaimer. In addition to Axe FX and Matrix Q12 I can also bring a pair of SRM450s if you want to do the PA/monitor comparison.

I might be interested if it's near London.  I could bring a Kemper.  Might be able to borrow an EV ZLX12P powered cab as well.

Be good if some parts of the meetup & comparison were video'd perhaps?
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

I don't have a modeller but if around Surrey or London, I could be tempted to come along and watch, rub my chin and gurn.

I'm specifically interested in Axe-Fx, Kemper and Helix, FFRs, power amp & cab set up etc.

I suppose no one is interested in how a bass sounds through Helix?

    No? Didn't think so...

A yes to Bass, Acoustic and Electric Guitar
I do all three with various bands/functions etc so it would be interesting to see if a modelling unit/set-up could be a one stop rig for all.

It would be interesting to hear Helix through a 1000w head into a 1200w 2x10 cab.

I could stay at home and you would all still hear it..
