Strat bridge pickup

Anyone got an opinion on putting a Seymour Duncan jb jr humbucker in a MIM strat bridge position?  Or a hot rails I suppose although I just hate the way the hot rails look. Ta.

  • try an over-wound single coil first, balancing the volumes especially on clean settings can be an issue - even worse with high output humbuckers.

If a fatter / overwound single coil doesnt cut then next try low output paf, it would have a better chance of matching nicely with the single coils.

if you want 80s shred tones then by all means a hot rail is the way to go :)

I'd go for an overwound tapped single coil with a base plate on it.
    Or a quarter pounder type.

I've used stacked DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan pickups in the past with great success, they look like standard pickups but have more punch

I have a JB Junior in the bridge position of my 'slide' Strat and it works really well. The only real downside is that it spoils the bridge/middle combination - but if you're not a big user of that position, I'd highly recommend one.
