I cant find any examples of a phaser in an amps fx loop rather than in front of the amp. Can anyone point me out to one? (I dont have a phaser to try it with otherwise id do it)

Haven't watched this for a while, but think they might have tried a few options.

Not all phasers will work in the loop.

Certainly my Phase 90's clip and distort to hell in the Marshalls loop.

Yep, I prefer out front and I'm a sucker for putting everything in the loop. (Don't laugh).

more or less an easy way to try, is just to stick it after a distortion pedal.... as with flanger, I think the sound changes quite dramatically post gain, its more effected. Pre is subtler. I have both fx pre gain.

Of course the type of loop of you have could also have a big impact.
