NAD Dualist

What's Hot

So here it is, the amp I've been mentioning over the past 3 months – The Dualist from RD Amplification. Picked it up today and went straight to rehearsal with it and the band members loved it, and so did I. Much cleaner than my J20 which I like. I'm going to have to change settings on my pedals to accommodate it as it is so different. So hopefully I'll have a day free this week to do that before the gig I have on Saturday. Dare I say it that I kind of prefer it to my J20 but it's still the honeymoon period so will have to let things settle before making any rash decisions etc ;)

Thanks Adrian. I think so too. It's based around the Dumble style amp theme / Two rock. Can be quite clean but it can get really aggressive too. I love it but as mentioned I had to dial in new settings on my Warthog for it.

I bet your Veteran would sound amazing through it ;)

Lol still rinsing it out with water @garfy ;   It is bloody good though. If you can get to try one do so. I prefer it to my old TK Imperial I had and that was a great amp too :)

different field, so its ok.... no way to confuse a cricket bat with an amp. some guitars could be confused with a cricket bat but thats another story.

I'll have a go @Wazmeister  but I think most of it is self explanatory to be honest and some of the in depth tonal filters I'm still working out myself LOL. It is a single channel amp but it has two gain stages that are switchable so it acts like a 2 channel amp. However, as the gain channels are linked if you up the gain level on gain 1, gain 2 when selected will be more on top of whatever the gain 1 was set at. The LEVEL dial will increase the volume of the GAIN 2 stage. If you pull the LEVEL knob you can add brightness but it's this I'm a little unsure about as it's very subtle. FILTER is for tone really. As well as the gain stages being foot switchable there is another switch on the foot switch for BOOST which basically adds more gain and Middle for solos etc.

MASTER volume is at the back and there is also a GAIN TRIM knob at the back which one can tailor the amount of gain going into the GAIN stages. Apparently this feature was an internal trim pot inside the Dumble amps but rob put this outside to accessing it easily :)

Also has an FX loop. 2x KT66 installed

I can see myself losing a couple of pedals in the near future as this amp sounds lovely using it's own gain stages and being foot switchable negates having a stomp box for your dirt. Modulations sound great through this amp because of the great headroom available. All in all it's a very versatile amp. It's a keeper :)

    Hope thats all clear

LOL I won't be selling it. If I did it would be because I'd hit a financial hurdle to get over. Covers all genres really
