    The fuck? Bizarre looking thing.

Not entirely averse though... and the slide magnet on the headstock is a brilliant idea.

I wonder how it sounds for conventional (non-slide) playing.

Joe B could make anything sound brilliant.

And let's not forget his modesty about his own slide playing?

However, if the guitar isn't good enough for JB, then who IS it good for?

Looks a bit of a mess to me, like a prototype thing from the 70's.

there is an idiosyncratic nature about many signature models but this takes it to a new level - I'm stumped as to what to say, but I certainly can't find anything positive to say

I guess it shows Gibson can do interesting things from time to time.

never a shortage of interesting things from Gibson - Firebird X will top any list and many other flops in the past, that are now quirky, cool and somehow collectible

To be perfectly honest, the Firebird X wasn't even that bad of an idea, just not very well executed, and a little to late for the futuristic look.

  • Did he say 2008? It looks like something from the 70's.

    I like it.

I don't think it's perfect though.  IMO it would have been better with a Supro Laptsteel at the bridge and a Teisco Gold Foil repro at the neck.
