I have seen a Gibson ES335 Dot reissue (2013) figured in vintage sunburst for sale in Manchester. I have had a Gibson les paul standard before but because of all the fakes out there would really welcome an experts comments on the guitar. Tried to post the link but i'm hopeless, sorry.

Are these regarded as a good year for  the 335 or are the current Memphis made ones better.

Does look legit. Nearest I can find on Reverb is on at a dealers for £1800.

I would say £1500 is fine for a private sale.

Doubt there's a huge difference between this one and a new one (other than a hefty price difference!!)

    Worth a punt at £1500 I reckon..

I would not get hung up on that - play it and if you like it then all well and good - it looks a good 335 and I've sold a few used ones from this era before and not found any issues - The only models above this one to consider are the Custom Shop/Historic replicas but a serious price hike as well - In that price range this is the one to go for - right features inc the gloss finish - cheaper than a shop rice at £1600, so if you can get it below that then even better

I'd be a bit wary when you go to collect it - the seller looks naked in the picture of the back of the headstock (reflected in the tuners).

I'd be more wary of the muscle shirt he seems to have on..!

Eh? It says 2013 on the back of the headstock.

    Yeah I noticed that.
1st and 5th digit for the year on that serial number sequence - looks to be a late Dec 2012 as well (353 code) so I can see why it has a 2013 number as well - does not make any difference really and obviously a cross over from the end of the year

They allocate the serials at the start of the build I believe - so it makes sense if it was a cross over from one year to another
