Film recasting

Ok so, imagine a time in the not distant future, cgi and the like has become so realistic that it's possible to watch any movie and recast the lead as any actor living or dead. 

Who and what??

I'd recast Colin Firth in Bridget Jones's Diary with Lassie.

"Game Of Death" featuring Bruce Lee.

Bruce filmed the fight scenes before his death and the rest of the film uses standing ins. What was released was a pathetic cash in and miles away from the film Bruce actually planned.

Richard Harris to finish the Harry Potter films- I liked his lightness of touch in the first few & felt Gambon didn't fit. 

Dolph Lundgren as Jack Reacher. 

At the risk of lowering the tone... Kate Beckinsale in any number of adult "movies".

I know... Jack Reacher is over 6ft and blonde in the books. Tom Cruise is TOTALLY miscast!

Interesting, much like you can mod a lot of games - could it be possible that in the future with thanks to CGI and the like that it would be possible to watch a film and select from a menu which actors you want in the film?

Exactly. 
The plot, script etc remains the same. 
Just the actors change.
