As rabs pointed out, the exact piece of wood with the grain at an angle has left it very weak at the waist though.

but a) because it is larger and b) the scratchplate runs snug to the body it does look cool - that T-caster just looks a dog

Dog? Aha ... I see what you did there.

Does it bark like a dog when you plug it in, I wonder? But then I'm thinking it might go a bit woof-ly with the bass notes. In which case it probably sounds better on lead.

Agreed, the scratchplate makes the Ampeg. Looks great.
