Didn't think it'd come to this...

MJW Twang King and matching 2x10 cab for sale.

The Twang King is a Princeton clone in a head. It's got a short 3 spring tank as opposed to a long 2 spring due to the confines of the head and the proximity of the transformers. Sonically that makes little difference. Other wise it's a VERY well made clone of an old Princeton in near mint condition throughout.

It's got a pair of lightly used Brimar 6V6 power tubes. The dogs bollocks of 6V6s not cheap!

Matching cab is loaded with a pair of Eminence Legend 10" Alnico speakers. These aim to replicate the sound of old Jensen's without the tendency to tear themselves to bits.

Sonically it all sounds like a Princeton but BIGGER. It's hard to nail on what it is, but it's probably a combination on things. An original in comparison sounds thin and boxy.

I'm looking for a grand for the pair. I suppose you could blow your wad on some boutique bollocks for a lot more, or you could have a stonkingly well made, brilliant sounding one of a kind amp made by our own @martinw

I will not sell the cab separately, however I will sell the head separately first if it comes to that. The head on it's own would be £800 (Head SOLD). On sale of that I'd accept £250 for the cab (Also SOLD).

Awesome. Rough wattage? Is it 12W-ish like a Princeton?

It's around 12-15W or there about... Martin might be able to answer that. But it's a blackface Princeton clone using all the correct transformers and what have you. So whatever they were.

Genuinely one of the best amps I have had the pleasure of playing. It sounds brilliant. Actually the amp is beyond belief but a special mention for the cab which I think is maybe the best cab I have tried.

    A total bargain

Amazing looking amp, I aspire to such a thing.... one day.
Out of interest, could I ask how the 6V6's  compare to the clean channel of the Lionheart?

The Lionheart's long gone I'm afraid. It's an old pic so not something I can remember.

Let me know when you're planning to come over to Cleggy's and I'll bring it over. I'll be over from Weds onwards. But could come over earlier if it's more convenient.

Forgot to mention, I have a footswitch for this also, I've never used it, but I've got one... I never used it because it doesn't leave the house and I made a little plug in switch to turn the vibrato on and off. The Reverb is always on of course Because (just turn that one down if you're some sort of weirdo and don't want it).
