In fairness there is also a switch round the back. It's mind-boggling

It sounds better if you don't.

And a mid-boost if you pull the tone knob up! Not to the mention the reverb and trem modules...

I'm sorry but the whole module thing is laughable.

Either put them in the amp or don't, bolting them to the insides of the cabinet  is just silly.

You're obviously not a lover are you? Those modules are a choice that Jesse offers. Some purists who would buy a tweed deluxe wouldn't want them in as they weren't in the originals . Simples

It's essentially a Mark III Boogie in Tweed clothing!

Not really. As I understand it, the 5E3 circuit is tricky to insert reverb and trem into, since it wasn't designed to have them. The modules also make sense if you're a one-man builder like Jesse - you make the basic amp, then add modules in any combination if the customer requires. Otherwise, he would have to design and build four versions of the amp.

The circuit sounds fundamentally flawed or limited then.

What's wrong with a loop and a pedal?
    or better yet, a rack?

I am of course being deliberately annoying.

I dont get the love for these types of amps, they seem to do none of the things I look for, i'm only poking fun.

Sorry, you're saying the 5E3 circuit is fundamentally flawed? I don't own a Lazy J, but have done. They're amazing sounding amps. Have you played one?

You feel the need to de-rail a thread where people are wanting to share a manual of their amp, cause you like being deliberately annoying or poking fun at things you don't get? Sounds a little childish doesn't it?

The 5E3 circuit *is*  fundamentally flawed *and* limited

However, people really like what it does. It's a bit of a one-trick pony, but it's a very good trick - if you want that sort of thing. If you don't, then it's not for you so move on and choose something you prefer.

You miss the point. Yeah of course it is, in the same way a 60s precision bass is cause it doesn't have a 3 band active EQ...or an old analog delay pedal is cause it rolls off the highs and gets a little dirty when hit by a boost.
