Northants UK

Long term/dream, I'd love to play main stage at a festival. Realistically I just want my new band to get gigging asap and get a bit of a following going.

Q1: Where did your username come from?

My name is Stuart and I am a guitar builder who has taken too long to start to make himself known! This is my company name. I’ve been dicking around with repairs, mods and the odd build since I started playing at sixteen and about 3 years ago I started getting serious about building, thus SBC Guitars was born!

Q2: Where in the world/country are you?

Uk, London. Workshop in Barnet, but looking for some where more permanent, suggestions/offer welcome!

Q3: What's your main musical ambition?

To establish myself as an affordable custom and production line guitar builder

Why, my own SB3 Custom, made from reclaimed yew and mahogany

Hi there. I've been lurking a while and thought I should introduce myself.

Q1: Where did you username come from?

One of my fave Floyd tunes. But my names's Brendan, not John.

Q2: Where in the world/country are you?

After living and working in West Yorks for a decade I'm now back home on the Wirral.

Q3: What's your main musical ambition?

To have a music room that doesn't have an ironing board in it.

Q4: Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

1989 Steinberger GM4T. All original with EMG's and TransTrem.

It changes on a weekly basis but today it's March of the Black Queen by Queen

Tele American deluxe. Nicest sounding guitar I've ever had. Even sounds ok when I play it.

Ashes to Ashes, Bowie. Made me cry when I was a kid. The best song ever written.

Q1; it's what everyone has known me as since about age 11 with the initials of my band OtherPeoplesLives

Q2; I'm in Leeds. I don't go to gigs to chant Yorkshire over and over exclusively, though.

Q3; Currently, to get back out gigging again and to do some more festivals. We've had a few lineup changes and trials/tribulations, but I'm at time of writing expecting to be releasing new material by August then Septemner and gigging a few short tours around then, ideally.

Q4; My best bit of gear is my Eventide H9 coz it brings so much glorious atmosphere to what I play. I've got it running wet/dry at the moment, sending entirely wet to the pa and dry to a voicelive 3 extreme and it just makes it sound like three guitars going on that way. Everyone wants to sound like three guitars!

Q5; my favourite ever song changes regularly, so this is only probably relevant now... Always love a number of songs. At the moment I think it's probably Madder Red by Yeasayer.

Q3: Just to create. Always has been. Sometimes gigging has come in to the picture, but not often.

Q4: Best bit of gear guitar wise is probably my Carr Skylark. Studio wise my Lynx Hilo is amazing.

Loving the Sportsman! Having only been used to cheap modelling amps it took me a little bit of time to learn how to dial it. Now I know how to play around with the volume controls and the mids its fantastic!

Find some like-minded souls to have fun and play out live a bit without trying to turn a profit on it

My 2007 Classic Player 60s Strat is what I'd save from a burning building. Not my most valuable bit of gear though.

Most played along to over the decades would probably be Pearl Jam 'Alive'. Too many faves though.
