Just got a band together in the last few months and we did our first few gigs last week - feel free to check out the videos and give some feedback! I am going to go thru this whole thread and sharing the the likes too - will get the band members to do the same - that should bump us all up a bit :D :)

    Done for all. Here's ours:

Have a listen to the first track that's shared on the timeline, should you so desire - another teaser for the album which is out in a couple of weeks :)
Fantastic original stuff. Really like the singer Jo-Ann's voice. Great solo on Sunset of Red.

    All up to date!

    Thanks

Can I make a few observations? I'm no expert but I noticed not many of the bands have videos - even if it's the local pub - get some done or ask mates to record on the phone and let ppl see you can play - you'll get gigs easier if someone can see you on a stage and holding a tune :p

The other thing is, make your band page more link friendly follow this link:
This makes your page "www.facebook.com\yourbandname" rather than ...\pages.46635.ts etc :)

  • not wanting to piss on anyones chips but you do all realise that having loads of likes is irrelevant.  the fact that you may have 5000 likes doesnt mean that 5000 are getting your feeds every post.  facebook has complicated algorithms that measure likes against interractions. so if you have huge number of likes and very little interactions you are probably doing yourselves more harm than good.

our facebook has very few likes so we're safe then! As you can pay to increase your number of likes then an absolute number seems fairly meaningless I know.
On the facebook manager thing I get 'people reached' and I'm not quite sure what that is ? If a post has been shared by say a venue owner I might get 200 people reached and I like to think that's significant.

Yeah I'm aware of this, for me it's more about having a decent amount of likes for future bookings and 'respect' off promoters/venues rather than wanting an actual 'fan-base' of adoring fans hanging on our every post.

Everyone gets a notification for upcoming gigs as they get tagged in, which is a good way of getting more people to see your stuff-tagging photos.

    This^

Farming likes is almost completely pointless.

Facebook rank you on how much people talk about you and how much activity relates to you.
