I've lowered the action at the bridge and it is very close to how I like it.

Think it needs a tiny shim in the neck pocket to get is as silly low as I want.

In other news - why to Yamaha insist on using really long saddle height adjustment screws that dig into your palm? Every Yammie I've owned has been the same. Have to get some shorter ones.

Played it at rehearsal this morning. Sounded brilliant, just used the P pickup.

Sat in the mix really well.

I am a big fan of the bottom-of-the-range Attitude Plus model. A Gotoh 201B bridge improves the sustain and, more importantly, the on-strap balance. An American pickup and pots improve the sound. Stacked treble 'n' bass active EQ competes the picture. There is even space for a PP3 within the existing control cavity.

I absolutely love the sound of my 5 string.

Unfortunately it really is too heavy for me and I'll probably have to move it on. It balances well and it already has lightweight tuners so apart from routing there's nothing I can do about the weight and I don't want to do that.

Bit of a bummer really.

I paid £220 all in. If I can get that back (it has since had a pro set up) then I'd be content.
