What's Hot
StrangefanStrangefan Frets: 5845
I have  had this for a week now and boy it's phenomenal, it's the ibanez SR1300 PREMIUM, its ibanez own ex demo, they retail for £1100 I got it for 600 but due to some wheeling and dealing, I actually only paid £200 due to some savvy deals.

It has Noedstrand pickups, wenge and bubinga  neck,
Mahogany , ash and wedge body.

This thing totally oozes class, it will be the the main studio bass due to the range of sounds.

I am very very happy.

Lovely! I've always liked the Ibanez natural finish basses..

How heavy is it? What strings you going for?

@Bridgehouse its a a good weight  it's about the same as my Hohner b2a, I'm not sure of exacts, but a lot lighter than my old stingray and usa precision.

Yeah the neck is like nothing else I have played so little very especially with the lack of laquer

They really are me old Bean, I have never owned one before and would have never considered one, but it came in the local shop and I thought I'd give it a go, the sound and feel of the unlaqured wood had me hooked the build quality was the icing in the cake.

It has a mid cut/boost switch which really brings out the slaps and pops, Les clapool would be proud.

Lovely things. And the Nordy pickups are fantastic.

I just wish the 5 string version didn't have such narrow string spacing at 16.5mm.

@guitarfishbay that is bloody useful thank you very much for the link.

@fretmeister I am used to the thicker neck and thought the narrow necks Ibanez use would be unpleasant, (hence now owning one before) but this has changed my tune, so maybe the 5er would be OK

Yeah and if they're light, too...

I have to say I'm not a fan of the individual bridge pieces.
But I guess it makes it easier to manufacture different spacings & 4/5/6 strings.

I understood it was meant to reduce crosstalk between strings.

@DLM oooh I though it was solely for Looks but that does make sense on a bass.
