Taylor 414
Up for sale is my 2003/4 Taylor 414. This has been my main acoustic for a long time and has seen lots of use. I bought it in 2004 and it has been gigged regularly but has always been looked after. There are a few knocks and scuffs and some plectrum wear below the 15 fret (pics on request).
Taylor have recently re-released the "CE" version of this guitar and it retails at over £2000.
All Taylor guitars from this era came ready to be converted to electro with pre-drilled holes in the bridge etc so I had a Fishman passive transducer pickup professionally installed by Bob Dayfield at Sheehan's in Leicester - He also told me this one has a "Quarter-Sawn" which apparently was typical of the ones kept back for the American market in those days. I cannot verify this as absolutely true but it sounds reasonable as he was working for a Taylor main dealer at the time. It has regularly been set up and maintained by Colin Staples at Dave Mann guitars in Nottingham (another Taylor specialist).
This is an absolute power house of a guitar and is tough as nails. It is great for any "OM" style playing. Spruce top & ovangkol back and sides. This one has white fretboard binding. Hard case is of course also included.
Reidy's currently have a used one of these in stock and are asking £1300.
Any questions, please feel free to ask. No trades on this & collection only from Notts/Derbys border but I travel to Birmingham New Street daily so a meet up in Birmingham centre could be possible.
Price: £1100ono
