Gig spam: my first outing with a new band.

Anyone fancy coming to see my band play some rock covers?

This will be the first time I'm gigging with these guys and the first time I've played drums in a covers band.
We are an 8 piece with sax/keys/trumpet.
We do a few atypical covers songs- not your usual functions band stuff, although there is a bit of that too.

Didn't know the Jericho Tavern was doing gigs again! Hope they've done a redesign, for the sake of fitting your eight-piece band on the stage - let alone the dressing room! Fond memories of playing there in the 90s, though not such fond memories of carrying my Fender Rhodes up the stairs. All the best for your gig.

I bloody love that place. It was my old band's most beloved home venue and the scene of our last gig.

I can't make it, sadly but wish I could - the band sounds great.

Well that was awesome.
No major fuckups and the sound was good.
I need to use my good earplugs for gigs- ears are ringing even though I had foam in.

I guess I am now a drummer, or a close approximation.

Oh and on the back of this gig we've been booked into the O2 in Oxford sometime later in the summer, which was nice.

It was fairly tight up on stage.
I quite like being able to sit down for the gig but I'm absolutely knackered today.
Drumming is obviously much more physical than guitar playing.
