This thread has been a real shock. Not the relicing, but seeing what looks like my own garden seat and table with someone else's guitar on it.
Is your table as relic'd as mine?

i had a similar thought, although mine is much smaller and not as reliced

The bench is similar. The table has one or two years' catching up to do.

Now, as a full on relic fest, I want that "in the sun for too long" faded look.

So out came the amber tint (light) and some careful spraying. I should use a bridge and pickguard to mask, but this is good enough for the intended result:

Neck plate and screws: scuffed up with some wire wool and a screwdriver ;) and now in the relic bath...

It was a complete experiment - it was tough not to get too much tint on, and not to get it too regular and even!

First pass relic'ing - some more scrubbing and back in the tub!

Saw this at 'the other place' :)

Looks just as good here too ;)      Really impressive attention to detail and techniques....

Lol - it's a sealed tub so it's not too bad. Gives a nice subtle relic tho.

First round of relic action done.

Needs a lot more detailing yet, but...

My God, what have you done to my beautiful body and neck, I spent hours sanding them to a perfect finish, now you beat the shit out of them.

    Only joking.

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.

    :D

It wouldn't look as authentic if you hadn't done such a great job on it in the first place ;)
